RIVER is a very gentle, quiet and sweet natured cat. It has taken us a while to gain his trust, and you should allow a few months before he will settle and become relaxed around you but it will be well worth it. Ideally he should have access to a human-free space like a spare room or outside enclosure for him to retreat to when he get startled or guests visit.
