Rehome your pet via PetRescue

We understand that the decision to find a new home for your beloved pet is a difficult one. There are many emotions involved for both the family and the pet. Our Home2Home program is for people like yourself, who care dearly about their pet but, for circumstances out of your control, must find a new home for them.
PetRescue understands how hard rehoming your pet is and wants to support owners in this time of need. Home2Home provides peace of mind knowing your pet is safe at home with you whilst undertaking the adoption process.
What is Home2Home?
Home2Home is a supportive and non-judgemental program that provides you with the tools and support needed to rehome your pet from home.
Our team will help you list your pet on our website and provide one-on-one assistance finding a loving new home.

What is a Safety Net Fee?
One benefit of using Home2Home is offering a ‘Safety Net’ should the adoption not work out.
But, what is a ‘Safety Net’, and why is this beneficial to you and your pet? Home2Home’s Safety Net is a safeguard within the program. This means that if the adoption is unsuccessful (within the first four weeks of your pet going to their new home), your pet will have a safe place within a trusted rescue. The Safety Net provides you with peace of mind knowing if the adoption doesn’t work out, the Safety Net group will care for, love and rehome your pet with the perfect family.
We have asked a number of amazing rescues to be ‘Safety Net’ groups for the Home2Home program. In supporting the program and becoming a Safety Net, we ask owners using the Home2Home program for $50 (for each pet) provided to the Safety Net group should the adoption be unsuccessful. This fee considers any expenses that a rescue group may encounter when taking on your pet, such as food, enrichment, vet bills and medication.
*Note: The Safety Net fee is $50; however, if you’re experiencing financial hardship, please let us know in the Home2Home enquiry form below. In the event you would like to keep your pet should the adoption not work out, please let us know, and we can assess the Safety Net fee
Why is there an adoption fee?
PetRescue collects an adoption fee for every pet that is rehomed via Home2Home. This payment assists with running our living-saving programs, including Home2Home. To find out more about these programs, please read on here.
When you’ve found the perfect new home for your pet, and you’re ready to finalise the adoption, our team will provide you with a formalised adoption form and a secure payment link for the adoption fee. The adopter pays the fee before taking their furry new friend home. Each pet's fee varies depending on the species, location and age.
